WELCOME TO LIFELINE NETBALL
Lifeline Netball began in 1996 by a group of friends who enjoyed playing netball wanting to play as a team. With a donation from a player’s husband who ran a personal fitness company (Lifeline) the club was formed.
For several years the team played in the Croydon Netball League and Met League with limited players, training in various school halls and hiring local courts for matches.

Crunch time came when over half the team decided to leave/move onto other clubs and only 5 players were left at the AGM! With a £3000.00 grant from Grassroots and participation in the Jack Petchey Foundation they were able to establish a youth section and encourage many of the girls to undertake coaching and umpiring courses.
These grants also helped to provide funding to undertake level 2 coaching qualification, one of the first CNL teams to achieve this. Providing funding for lifeline members to improve their personal netball qualifications has been a key ethos of our club. In 2007 one of the coaches was approached by a group of Mums wanting to play a fun netball match against girls and staff at the end of the year. Training began, and the match was officiated by some of our newly qualified youth umpires.
This was the start of Netball Mummies which is now known as our very successful Back to Netball Section. The invitation to join Wallington Sports club in 2010 gave the club a permanent court base, club house and “home.” 2015 saw the long-awaited Junior Section something as a club we are very proud of. To date the junior section has grown in strength under the guidance of Jo Crowhurst (Lead Coach) and her team.
Lifeline now has 4 senior teams & 2 junior teams playing in CNL and Met Leagues, a very strong B2N section and a thriving juniors section who are the future of Lifeline.
